Vem muito a calhar esta reportagem publicado no europeu Futebol Finance falando da precariedade da situação das equipes do futebol inglês. Notadamente, quando dizem que a maior parte de toda a grana dos clubes provém de paraísos fiscais.

"O jornal Guardian revelou recentemente que as 20 equipas da Premier League têm no total dívidas no valor de mais de 3.500 milhões de Euros. Esta valor foi apurado através os Relatórios e Contas dos clubes do ano de 2008, no entanto podemos descobrir mais pormenores interessantes, nomeadamente a existência de capital não Britânico em 10 das 20 equipas da Liga Inglesa, onde 7 das empresas detentoras da maioria do capital dos clubes estão registadas em paraísos fiscais.
Aqui fica então a compilação do estado financeiro dos clubes da Premier League, através dos valores apresentados nos seus relatórios e contas de 2008. Os valores referem-se à receita anual, massa salarial anual, dívida total em Outubro de 2008 e juros anuais suportados em função dos empréstimos obtidos pelos clubes.
